United Way of Northern New Jersey has gathered a variety of resources and links that can help community members working toward financial stability. Use the links below to learn more about career training and assistance, existing social services, and other local assistance programs.
Career Training and Assistance
- CollegeCentral.com – Connects college alumni to jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities
- New Jersey Career Connections – Connects job seekers to education, training, one-stop career centers, and statewide job postings
- NJTrainingSystems.org – Provides community members the ability to search for training opportunities by occupation and location
- ONETOnline.org – Connects community members to information on a variety of career paths, including the education and training needed for each occupation and its salary range
Assistance Programs
- NJ SHARES – A utility assistance program for families and individuals
- NJ SNAP – New Jersey’s food stamp program
- Public Assistance – Govt programs that provide aid to qualified individuals
Health Programs
- FamilyWize – Prescription drug discount cards for families and individuals
- Medicare – We partner with UnitedHealthcare to provide affordable Medicare solutions for individuals.
- NJ FamilyCare – An affordable health care program for low-income families
Savings Programs
- Free tax preparation – We work with community partners and IRS-certified volunteers to provide free tax preparation for low- and moderate-income individuals every January - April. Tax clients are eligible for counseling in savings options, tools, and incentives.
- Northern New Jersey Saves – A local awareness campaign to encourage and motivate individuals to save money and build assets. In partnership with America Saves, we help our neighbors build savings for emergencies and learn strategies for financial security on a limited income.
